Personal Background

The group of women who are the self-proclaimed Lane Witches consist of three sisters who use the mythological aliases Galadriel, Morgan le Fay, and Circe, and the daughter of the middle sister, Morgan le Fey, who uses the alias Medea.

The three sisters are separated from each other in age by merely a year each and were child prodigies in the fields of music and it's scientific corollary, mathematics. Reportedly, the three girls had mastered both performance level musical abilities and advanced calculus by the age of ten. Their father was a theoretical physicist and their mother was a concert musician who also possessed an advanced degree in mathematics.

When the oldest girl, Galadriel, was thirteen, the three sisters were enrolled at the Manhattan Institute of Technology and the Sciences, but failed to complete their first semester of coursework due to a refusal to attend their courses, which they reportedly described as "childish". Apparently, their father who was a dean at the Institute applied pressure to the academic committees, who conducted a week long "examination" of the girls' knowledge and abilities, and that concluded that they had already advanced beyond the Institute's ability to teach them. After two further years of work on the Institute's most advanced research teams, the girls were awarded Doctorates at the ages of 15,14, and 13.

Ageira Technologies finally managed to secure the young women for work in its Theoretical Applications Division within six months of their "graduation". The women continually baffled the other members of the Division by discussing theories and applications that other members of the Division believed to be fantasy rather than theoretical space-time applications. Rumors abounded that the women were more interested in researching the so-called "occult" applications of science and technology than in developing more advanced trade lanes and jump gates. Numerous reviews from their department heads found references in their work to concepts more related to "fantasy" and "magic" than theoretical physics. The women always maintained that they were being persecuted for their superior abilities out of jealousy and envy.

After three years of employment, Ageira Technologies terminated the women's contracts and reported them to the Liberty Security Force for allegations of security breaches, system's tampering, and theft of intellectual property.

The women disappeared before they could be arrested and are suspected of having stolen large portions of classified raw programming code from Ageira's most secure database. A computer virus of unknown origin attacked Ageira's security logs one day after their departure from the company, making it impossible to fully reconstruct their infiltrations into Ageira's systems.

The women are reported to have fled to the sanctuary of The Lane Hackers, due to numerous contacts with prior employees who have joined their ranks.

In the ensuing years since their departure from the company, rumors have circulated that the middle sister, Morgan le Fay, was seduced by a top ranking executive of Ageira. The rumors posit that their termination was a cover-up for the young woman's ensuing pregnancy. Reports of a fourth, much younger woman called Medea accompanying the sisters in the intervening years provides support for this rumor. Other rumors reverse the seduction and claim that the woman seduced the executive in order to gain access to high level security access codes, which the sisters exploited for The Lane Hackers.

Since their escape to The Lane Hackers, the reports of their activities have grown more and more fantastic, with nearly all recent reports detailing their use of "magic" and other "occult" practices in their attacks and infiltrations into Ageira operations.

Their most public action was a hack into the Ageira Technologies Procurement Division HQ building on Planet Manhattan two years ago. They remotely gained access to the physical plant controls and reprogrammed the interior lighting of the building to cause the building to appear to spell out "The Lane Witches" when viewed from a distance. The extensive damage to the physical plant programming code required the actual replacement of the computer hardware to restore the system. They have been collectively known as "The Lane Witches" in the public press ever since.

Known Crimes

The women specialize in acts that may be termed "terroristic" without necessarily causing physical damage. They engage in pranks, taunts, and repeated security breaches of Ageira, LSF, and LPI forces and organizations.

Threat Assessment

  • The subject is considered as low level threat in terms of personal potential to physically damage Ageira Technologies properties and personnel.
  • The subject is considered as high level threat in terms of potential damage to Ageira Technologies security protocols and Neural-net assets.
  • The subject is considered as medium level threat in terms of potential public relations damage to Ageira Technologies image and its subsidiaries.

Disposition
